Are You Sabotaging Yourself?

Is there an area of your life where you are not meeting your goal?

Did you start something and then stop? Did you Hesitate? Give up?  Do you want something, but your behavior is inconsistent with what you want?

You may be sabotaging yourself.

We are our own worst enemies.  We have desires and dreams.  We know what we need to do and we don’t do it.  We know what we don’t need to do and we do it anyway.

How do we get our behavior in alignment with what we want?

We need to resolve our inner conflicts.

When your desires conflict with your beliefs, you hit the brakes.  A flashing red light goes off in your head and you turn back.  Your excitement and energy drops and your commitment waivers. You feel stuck.

This inner conflict is caused by fear, doubt or something you believe about the goal itself.  Maybe it’s too hard, too confusing, takes too much time, feels impossible or unrealistic.  Maybe you don’t want to feel pain or hurt someone else.  All these thoughts and beliefs cause confusion and it seems the easiest thing to do is to stay where you are.

Inner conflicts kill your goals and zap your happiness.

Next time you make an excuse, feel stuck or you are avoiding taking action, notice what you are telling yourself.  Do you have a fear of failure?  Fear of rejection?  Fear of being alone?  Do you doubt yourself? Are you overwhelmed?

You need to ask yourself, just how bad do you want this goal?  How deep is your desire?  Are you willing to take a risk and walk through the fire to get it?

If the answer is no, then you may need to change your perception of your situation and stay put.  In order to get what you’ve never gotten, you need to do what you’ve never done.  If you aren’t willing to feel some pain, do the work and jump outside of your comfort zone, then it may be time to just settle in where you are and carve out your little slice of happiness.

If you are not willing to settle and you want an extraordinary life that amazes you, then fight your fears like David and Goliath.  Squash your self-doubt by taking insane, massive action.  Be relentless and unreasonable in your pursuit.   Absolutely believe with every ounce of your being that the word impossible does not exist.  Then sit back and watch the Universe give you exactly what you want.
