See it. Do it.

It was dark and the room was silent.  I never knew teenagers could go this long without looking at their phones.

We were at the Cheer Worlds competition in Orlando, waiting for our team to perform in 5 hours.  I went to give my daughter a hug at the team hotel and one of her friends asked me to “do that thing I do”.

Before I could say yes, she tweeted and tex’d her whole team and 20 kids came pouring into this tiny hotel room. There was not one empty square inch to stand.

I dimmed the lights and started the guided visualization.  I did what is called, “future pacing”.

Future pacing gives a person the experience of dealing positively with a situation before they get into that situation in reality. This is based on visualization where the mind is assumed not to be able to tell the difference between a what is real and what has been clearly visualized. The theory is that, having visualized positively, when the subject encounters the situation again in reality the visualized experience will serve as a model for how to behave, even though this experience was imagined. The mind cannot tell the difference between the visualization and reality so it accepts the visualization as reality. ~Wikipedia

You could hear a pin drop as I guided the kids through their performance all the way to World Champions.

When the lights came on, I looked around and there was not a dry eye in the room.  One boy said, “Did we really win?!!”  Every one of them believed they could do it and they were ready to make it happen.

When was the last time you visualized your future?

Your unreasonable, anything is possible, deepest desires future

This is where your dreams live.  This is where possibility lives.

It’s easy

Close your eyes and picture yourself living your dream.  Overcoming that obstacle.  Feeling happiness.  Finding peace.  Experiencing true love.

Picture what you want then run it like a movie in your mind.

Make the colors bright.  Make the picture big.  Feel it.  Hear it.  Smell it. Experience it fully.

Then anquor that feeling by touching your index finger to your thumb.

This is your destiny.

Don’t believe me?

If you stay on course and don’t give up.  If you don’t let fear stop you or doubt confuse you.

If you ignore that little voice in your head that says you can’t.

You WILL get there. I guarantee it.

You can have anything.  Overcome anything.  Be anything.

The only thing standing in your way is YOU

Stop doubting yourself.  There is NO ONE like you. There is no other time than NOW.

You know what you need to do.  Stop waiting. Stop complaining.  Stop comparing yourself to other people.  Stop wishing it were different and do something about it.

YOU have the power to change your life right now.  YOU have ability to break the barriers holding you back.

It’s time to widen your comfort zone.

It’s time to create a new normal.

You have a higher calling.  You need to make it through this and help others.  The world is waiting for YOU.

There is nothing you cannot accomplish.

It will be hard.  There are times you will want to quit.  You will get scared.  You will get tired.

But if you keep going you will make it happen.

Play bigger.  Be bolder.

Your life is waiting for you.

The kids beat 95 teams from all over the world to win the Silver World Champion Medal.  It was a nearly perfect routine.
