Don’t Settle for Less than You Deserve

You know that saying, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see”? Well, I have been looking at my house for years and just now noticed a huge crack!

It’s not a tiny crack, like chipped paint, but the kind of crack that could break my house in half any minute!I asked my friend about it and he said, “Your house is settling”.

I googled it immediately and learned that this “settling” causes sudden pressure to accrue on the support structures. The stucco cracks under this additional pressure because it has not been built to withstand it.

Interesting….

If a house crack when it settles, then what happens when we settle?

We all have a life we were born to live. We have dreams and desires that were put inside us — for a reason. When we are not living that life, we are either moving toward it, or settling.

When we settle, we can usually feel it. We make excuses, rationalize and know deep inside that there is something more. But we don’t take action to get it. We settle.

Why?

We settle because we are scared. What if we take a risk and it doesn’t work out? What if we end up with less than we have now?

We settle because we don’t feel we deserve what we really want. We create beliefs about what we deserve based on our past experience. Then we allow our past to dictate our future. We will always accept what we feel we deserve.

We settle because we lack confidence. The greatest obstacle we face is self doubt. We believe that little voice that tells us we are not enough.

We settle because we are impatient. It’s not easy to wait, especially when you want something so bad. We get tired of waiting and take what we can get.

We settle because we get lazy. Change requires work. Sometimes it seems easier to stay where we are than to do the work to get to where we want to be. This is a short term strategy. There will always be a part if you that wants something more.

Wanting more is not about striving for perfection. There is no such thing. This is about pursuing the deepest desires of your heart, refusing to live another day unhappy and fulfilling your life’s purpose.

Is there an area of your life where you are settling?

What you allow will continue. You are in charge of your own happiness.

2015 is the year to move forward! It’s time to make the tough decisions, take the risks and go for what you truly want.

It’s time to know your own worth and fight for the love, career, body and life you deserve.

Refuse to accept less just because you are too impatient to wait for the best.

Raise your standards and have the courage to walk away from something that makes you unhappy.

Move forward with bold confidence and choose to believe you will succeed.

It’s time to stop accepting “good enough” when amazing is possible.

It’s time to break free and tap into the power and strength inside you. Act now before you crack under the pressure of not living your dreams.

Go for it! I promise you….the best is yet to come.
